Dr. Richard B. Edelman is also Professor Emeritus of Finance at the American University in Washington, District of Columbia, where he also served as the Senior Professor of Finance and the Chairman of the Department of Finance and Real Estate. Formerly, he was the Director of Financial and Regulatory Research at Communications Satellite Corporation (COMSAT). He also served on the faculties of the University of Maryland and the University of Hawaii. He has received numerous research grants from these universities and awards for Professor of the Year and for Outstanding Scholarship, Research and Professional Contributions at the American University.

Dr. Richard Edelman has discussed financial and economic issues during appearances on various news networks, newspapers, radio talk shows, and magazines. Some of which include , but are not limited to, NBC’s Today Show, Fox Morning News, BBC World Service, CS Monitor Radio, Forbes, The Washington Post, and Yomiuri Shimbun (Tokyo). His financial research has appeared in numerous scholarly journals, such as the Financial Analysts Journal, Financial Review, and the Southern Business Review. He serves on the editorial review board of the Journal of Forensic Economics and won the American Association of Individual Investors Award for Best Paper in Investments. As a financial advisor to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, he is qualified as an expert witness before the U.S. Congress and in numerous jurisdictions in the U.S. district courts, superior court, and circuit courts for the Maryland, District of Columbia, and Virginia area. Dr. Richard Edelman received a Doctor of Business Administration in Financial Economics from the University of Maryland.
