Kingfisher chooses beneficiaries deeply connected to our local community, the United States Military, and initiatives aimed at providing aid to those affected by cancer.
Marking our seventh consecutive year of participation, Kingfisher once again stepped up to bolster our neighbors through our annual collection drive for Fairfax County’s Adopt-a-Family Holiday Program. “Our commitment to the Adopt-a-Family Holiday Program reflects our corporate ethos of community engagement and compassionate outreach,” says Jason R. Bartos, Chief Financial Officer. “Kingfisher is deeply moved by our employees’ consistent and generous involvement in supporting this cause, year after year.”
Recognizing the amplified needs of our community during the holiday season, the County’s Department of Family Services’ Children, Youth, and Families Division created the Adopt-a-Family outreach program in 2006 to meet this challenge. Through the generous contributions of County residents, non-profits, and neighborhood businesses like Kingfisher Systems, Inc., this community initiative uplifts struggling families. In 2022, the Adopt-a-Family program in Fairfax County achieved a milestone with a record number of donations, marking it as an exceptional year. According to the program’s website, the combined effort of nearly 500 Adopt-a-Family donors brought joy and much-needed gifts, food, clothing, and financial assistance to 685 families, including 1,537 children.
