Military Community Talent
With almost 60% of our workforce comprised of veterans, we understand the unique skillset veterans bring to the table
We advocate and support our military community, including military spouses and dependents who serve as the backbone of this critical community. Kingfisher would be honored to play a role in your transition to civilian life. We encourage service members and their families to apply to any of our open positions or send a general inquiry.
Kingfisher is honored to be a multi-year award winner of the Department of Labor HIRE Vets Medallion Award (The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act of 2017). The Hire Vets Medallion Award is the only federal-level veterans’ employment award recognizing a company or organization’s commitment to veteran hiring, retention, and professional development. Kingfisher proudly exceeds the minimum hiring goal of 7% for consideration.
As part of our continued commitment to hiring veterans and their families in 2023, we were excited and honored to have Kingfisher complete the training and become certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a V3 Certified Employer. The V3 Program (Virginia Values Veterans) helps the 2600+ Virginia-certified companies implement and maintain nationally recognized best practices in recruiting, hiring, and retaining one of the nation’s most valuable assets, the military veteran and their families. We hope you will consider joining our team.

“Kingfisher Systems recognizes the strengths, skills, and qualities veterans bring to the workplace. Integrity, commitment to customer, innovation, excellence, passion for mission and responsiveness are significant values at Kingfisher Systems and for veterans coming from a hierarchal rank structure. Kingfisher Systems’ Headquarters staff and its program managers are competent and prepared in helping veteran employees connect and work with civilian coworkers, learn new skills and concepts, and adapt to the civilian workplace.” — T.O.
“I have been a part of the Kingfisher company for almost two years. As a retired veteran, it has been a rewarding experience and one of the top companies I have been a part of over the last seven years. Opportunities are available to learn and for professional growth, if you desire.” — K.M.
“I appreciate Kingfisher’s commitment to the team. We act as a unit and take care of our own. Also, Kingfisher has provided growth and training opportunities over the last eight years of my career.” — M.F.
After 8 years with the Air Force—four ROTC and four active duty—the military was all I’d known when I decided to separate in 2006 at 26 years old. It was scary to contemplate leaving the consistency and security of the miliary, and I loved being in the Air Force. I loved contributing to national security. It was hard to leave and I worried I would never have the same impact I did when I was on active duty. However, with Kingfisher I found a new home where I could have different experiences and exposure to clients and national security issues and topics I never imagined. At this point, I’ve been with Kingfisher longer than I was ever in the military and have no regrets. Kingfisher has been a wonderful second home for me and I love being able to contribute differently here, 16 years later, and value the life-long personal and professional relationships I’ve made as a result of that fateful decision. — L.M.
